Coco: Why do people start wars?

Me: Silly isn’t it?

Coco: I mean they all have land to start with, why do they need more?

Me: Guess people want what other people have.

Coco: I just think if everybody liked their land they wouldn’t fight so much.

Me: People also like to tell other people what to do.

Coco: It just doesn’t seem like a good idea.

Me: Remember how we talked about how the ego that sits on our shoulders and makes people do crazy things like fight and be mean to others and not share candy when you’ve got a big, fat bag full to the brim?

Coco: Yes.

Me: Well, war is started by people with really big fat egos that hang like fat sacks on their backs. They don’t want to share their candy with anyone.

Coco: It just doesn’t make sense.

Coco grabbed her favorite stuffed animal, and I shut off the light. I can’t help but think we need a few more children running the show.
